This morning when I took my pictures to send to Nutrisystem, I looked into the screen, and I thought to myself; I can’t tell the difference, I hope Nutrisystem can. As of today I have lost 10.6 since July 5th. Then as I am writing this post, I decided to upload my first pictures to Picmonkey and today’s pictures, and I am glad I did. I can definitely see a difference. Especially in the first picture. My shirt is looser, and it looks like my love handles are starting to say their last good-byes.
The middle pictures I honestly can’t tell a difference. I know everyone loses weight differently, so I am hoping my stomach will start making progress soon. I really thought that after hernia surgery, my stomach would have gone down a lot more than it has, but I guess after having two babies back to back it is really fighting to stay.
The 3rd picture to the right I wasn’t sure, and then I saw a little bit of my stomach fat and under ware hanging out in my first photo. In the second one, my stomach is flatter and my shirt covers my stomach with no problem. I also noticed in the pictures that my black yoga pants are becoming much looser in the butt and legs. I am really glad that I decided to do a comparison because this morning I was honestly feeling like I couldn’t tell that I had lost almost 11 pounds.
Due to my stomach unfortunately, all my older clothes that I haven’t been able to wear years remain in the closet. Until my stomach decides to get the memo my smaller pants just won’t close. Anyone have any good ab exercise ideas aside from crunches? I honestly get so bored with those, but I might have to start doing those soon. I think I am still kinda nervous about doing them since having a hernia for almost 2 years I wasn’t able to do any stomach exercises. I know it is okay now, but maybe it has just been an excuse for so long that I can’t snap out of it. “Oh I can’t work out I have a hernia” I had a good run though. I really like kettlebell, so maybe I will get back into that.
Doing Nutrisystem during the summer might be hard for some people, but it is pretty easy for me. We recently moved here and don’t know too many people, so if we have a barbecue it is just us and planned. What was hard for me in the past was doing it in the middle of a ton of holidays. I just was not prepared mentally. I kept thinking I could cheat for one day and then get back on track the next, and that was not working. Calories added up, and it can take weeks to get back a one day cheat day. I started right before Halloween. Then there was Thanksgiving, my wedding anniversary, my birthday, Christmas, and it seemed like every company known to man wanted to send me a cake or dessert to be featured on my blog. I guess it was just that feeling of being left out. Oh look at all these people enjoying Halloween candy, and I can’t. Oh look at that amazing turkey, pumpkin pie, etc. and I can’t have that. So I had it. I didn’t want to be left out.
What happened after that?
Well, Nutrisystem decided to end our relationship. Who could blame them? I messed up. I really bummed that I missed out on a once in lifetime opportunity. I took a break and reevaluated my thinking and joined some Nutrisystem groups and followed successful people. What did they all have in common? THEY DID NOT HAVE CHEAT DAYS! So why was I sabotaging myself? I decided to start caring more for myself and eating better. Nutrisystem was still a part of my everyday life even though I was no longer blogging for them. I was researching everything I could and that is when I discovered I had been doing it all wrong. I had actually been eating too little when I was following the plan. I was following the book that came with my order when you are supposed to be following what the the Numi App said. Since I was starved as a child that feeling of hunger triggers me really bad, so now that I am able to eat a little more than I thought I am not tempted to cheat like before. I learned a lot in my time away. I also decided to get hernia surgery before contacting them again. I wanted to have my “A” game, on just in case they wanted to work with me again.
I got out of surgery, and I felt…well drugged…I just got out of surgery. (haha) I also felt relief. I felt like I had a new beginning. It was also my first major surgery, and I was terrified. When I was close to recovery, I wrote Nutrisystem from my bed. I told them about my surgery and some other things, and here we are again. I got a second chance. I don’t want to take that for granted. I refuse to have cheat days anymore. I won’t get results having cheat days. We went on vacation during my first five weeks, and I brought food with me and my eating out guide. I didn’t even look at menus I just ordered from my book or went on the restaurant’s website to compare what I could get. They also have the best counselors out there to help you if you need help deciding on what to order.
Towards the end of August, we are heading to Pennsylvania. Henry is obsessed with Elmo, and I have always wanted to take Adam to see Sesame place. Now that they are both older I felt now was a good time, so I will be blogging for Sesame Place, and the kids get to have fun. We will probably go to Hershey Park as well. We also have some friends who just moved there that we will be staying with for a night or so along with a couple of hotel stays. I swear every hotel we have ever stayed out the pools are either out of order or ice cold. I don’t know what is up with that. I really hope that my pool curse ends soon because I really want to take my kids in the pool. I will be bringing my Nutrisystem food with me again along with my eating out guide.
