#1: Customer Service.
The Customer Service was amazing. Everyone was really nice, and you could feel that they genuinely cared about us during our stay. My kids had left a toy in the room, and I left some lipstick and the nice lady who was taking care of our room brought it all the way to the bowling area where we were playing because she knew that we hadn’t left yet. The boys loved that before it was time for bed, they put fresh baked cookies in the hall. (You can see them getting their yummy cookies in the video and the end of this post!)
(Located in Perry, Iowa)
#2: The themed rooms.
There are 40 themed rooms! Not one room is the same. Is it weird that is it totally my goal to stay in each of the rooms at least once? We stayed in the Mexican themed room on our last trip and when we go back out there next year, I plan on staying in a different themed room.
Known as one of the Finest Historic Boutique Hotels in the World, the Hotel Pattee is a Destination upon itself. The property boasts 40 individually decorated and themed guest rooms, a state of the art bowling center, a full service dining room and lounge, and its own dedicated library. Additional services include the Full Service Copper Door Spa along with many other Amenities.
#3 It is affordable.
Prices range from $99 a night and up, and they always seem to be running a great deal. It was truly and great experience, and you will pay more other places and not have the experience you have at Hotel Pattee. You can feel the history of this place just walking in the door. It is very well taken care of, and it has been the only hotel I have stayed out where I had a hard time leaving. Seriously….I wanted to move in.
The hotel experience itself was awesome, but David’s Milwaukee Diner put it over the top. I make the best biscuits and gravy in the world….truly I do. When I saw their biscuits and gravy on the menu, I thought, “Ok I will give it a try, but I will probably be disappointed.” I was totally wrong. They were the best Biscuits and Gravy; I have had in my life! Biscuits were definitely homemade that morning along with gravy. If not, I would be in shock. The meal was called “Down South Breakfast.” It tasted super fresh, and I would go back just for the breakfast if I was in the area and not needing a place to stay. My hubby got the Country-Fried Steak, and the boys shared some pancakes. We also ordered the Pain Perdu to share, and my husband went nuts over that. (You can see pictures of our food in the video below)
#5 The bowling alley.
Yes, you are reading that right. There is a bowling alley in the hotel. Bowling has been a part of my life since I was a little girl. My Dad even competed on a professional bowling team when I was little, and I spent a lot of time there. I remember eating my meals there on a regular basis, and I have a lot of great memories bowling with my Dad. Being able to bowl at The Hotel Pattee with my kids was very special. They were even able to put up special rails so that they had a better chance of knocking them down.

We can’t say enough great things about Hotel Pattee, and if you are ever near Perry, Iowa be sure to look them up! You will not regret it! You can view their website here! We took lots of pictures, and we want to share them all, so we put together a video for our readers below! Hotel Pattee also treated us to the National Balloon Classic before we checked into our room so you will see some pictures of that as well in the video.
Thanks to Hotel Pattee for hosting our stay in exchange for a featured post on our blog. We did not receive any other compensation. Our experience and opinions are all our own.
