The ring is an awesome device that you attach to the outside of your home so you can monitor who is coming and going around your home. When I first got it, I really thought I would only see people if they rang my door bell. The cool thing is that it also detects motion, so people don’t even need to ring the doorbell for you to know that they are there!
We have the highest wifi plan you can get with ATT, and the audio and video is still pretty choppy. I don’t know if it is because we have a brick house or what, but we are currently trying to work out the kinks. The video we captured the other day of or mailman is below.
As you can see the audio isn’t the best. I don’t think the video is horrible, but my husband can’t hear me clearly when I talk to him when I ring the door bell to test it. I can hear him pretty clearly. It concerns me if I use it to answer that I won’t be able to understand what the person is saying, and I will have to answer the door or hang up if I am not home. So far, other than capturing motion, we have not used it to answer the doorbell until we can work out the audio issue. I have seen amazing videos on their instagram channel, so I know it is possible. Here is one below:

If you have a brick wall like we do make sure to stop by your local hardware store for the proper tools. It was really hard to drill through the brick. It took a lot of time and patience, but we finally got it installed.
We plan on buying the door bell chime and the higher quality door bell with HD to see if that may be better. This one records in 720 and they just released a pro version that seems to be a little better quality. We also plan on looking into changing from our ATT provider to another wireless company that may give us better results. We were going to try to upgrade to a high plan to see if that would help with lagging issues, but we are currently on the highest plan they have to offer.
