Adam is always so polite. He has to open the door for us.
Chili’s is one of the places we always choose to celebrate as a family. Whether it is for a birthday or Father’s Day, we always seem to go to Chili’s. Funny thing my husband actually hates going to restaurants on holidays. It seems there is always a 1 or 2 hour wait no matter where you go, so we actually like to celebrate early, so we went a few days ago and while we were there celebrating Father’s Day, we also celebrated Henry turning 3! It feels like just yesterday I brought him home from the hospital.
Once we got settled at our table, we ordered our drinks and took a look at the menu. Even though we come here often I wanted to order something I had never tried before. I ordered the 10 oz. Honey-Chipotle Shrimp & Sirloin. It is 100% USDA Choice sirloin seasoned with chile spices, topped with seared honey-chipotle glazed shrimp & chopped green onions. Served with grilled asparagus & garlic roasted tomatoes and loaded mashed potatoes. It did not disappoint, and I would definitely order this again. I am really picky with asparagus, and this was just mouth watering.
My hubby is still adjusting to Chili’s new menu. He used to always getting the Country-Fried Steak, corn on the cob, garlic bread and mashed potatoes meal. It was something he ordered for years. I hope they bring it back, but every time we go, he tries something different, and I am hoping he will find a favorite soon. He did decide on a steak as well. He got the Classic Sirloin* – 10oz. He was able to add on some shrimp for $6.99. He said he would definitely order the steak again, so we may have finally found a winner!
For appetizers, we ordered half an order of Texas Cheese Fries and Skillet Queso and Chips!
Adam our 5 year old call Chili’s “The Pepper Place.” We travel a lot and he will be like, “Hey; I am hungry. Can we go to the pepper place today” It is pretty cute? He loves the food, and he loves that he can play games right at the table.
Adam ordered pizza and pineapple. Henry ordered chicken pasta and corn on the cob. It was too big for both of them, but guess what? It was Tuesday and kids eat free on Tuesday, so who cares if they didn’t finish their food! Two hours after we got home, they were hungry and shared the rest of Adam’s pizza and then the rest was left over for the lunch the next day. It can be hard for some families to go out and stay in budget, but with free meal Tuesdays for kids, it totally helps us stay in budget. We do go on other days to, but going on a Tuesday is definitely a bonus.
We let Henry play games for the first time as well since it was his birthday. They do charge extra to play games on the table. It is about two bucks, but it is totally worth it. The kids eat and enjoy a little screen time. I don’t allow screen time in the car often, so it works for us.
My Mom kept telling me to try a drink called Bahama Mama. I had never heard of it, and I rarely drink, but I decided to give it a try for her. It was no longer on their menu, but the manager remembered it, and since they had all the ingredients, they made it for me. It was pretty good. My Mom is coming to visit on the 25th, and I told her I would take her anywhere as a late Mother’s Day gift of sorts and she said she wants to go to Chili’s, so we will be back soon!
Chili’s also sings Happy Birthday to you for your birthday and gives you a free dessert! Isn’t that awesome? Henry didn’t know what to think when they sang to him. Sadly, my phone wasn’t fast enough to record when they came out, but he thought it was pretty cool. He is a big fan of chocolate!
Father’s Day is in TWO DAYS! Head into Chili’s and grab Dad a gift card or treat him to a night out!
Thanks to Chili’s for treating our family out to a night out! We had a lovely time, and we can’t wait to do it again!
