On Friday July 15th, we headed to the Exploration Station in Bourbonnais, IL! The boys were starving before we arrived so we made a quick stop at the Dollar Tree and got a couple of snacks.
Once we opened the door, the boys immediately saw a train. They love trains as most of you know, so they had fun climbing and exploring all over it while we checked in.
We spent about two hours inside exploring. My hubby took Henry around, and I took Adam. Adam and I went and checked out the Dinosaur bones. We had a lot of fun dusting off the bones, and then he was off to the tool area. He loves tools because Daddy is always building and making things, so playing with tools made him feel like a big boy.
After that we headed over to the train table area, and he played for a little while. Then he saw this really cool display with light switches and keys, and he played with that for a while. I just let him roam and pick and choose what he wanted to do. The whole place is pretty child proof, so I just enjoyed watching him play.
Here is a slide show of our pictures from that day:
We grabbed a cart, and he put what he wanted in the cart. We then went to the register, and I rung him up and bagged his groceries in reusable bags. It was pretty fun. Then we headed to the toddler area, and he played with the balls for a few minutes.
At this point, it had been about two hours, and we still wanted to check out the Farm next store that they are connected with. It was pretty warm that day, so not many animals were out, but we got to see a hen, a rooster and a couple of ducks. They had a lot of fun feeding them corn kernels. They also have a nearby park that the boys played on before we made the long ride home. The boys had a blast and we plan go back.
